Shankaracharya School follows the ancient Gurukul tradition, where under the guidance of teachers (Acharyas), students learn through discipline, devotion, and practical knowledge.
“Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye” — True knowledge is that which liberates and enlightens the soul.
Adi Shankaracharya in his famous Bhaja Govindam composition says that Jnana and Bhakti are not different but one and the same. Fully matured wisdom is Bhakti, and sincere and intense Bhakti is Jnana. Mere empirical knowledge is not enough; complete and sincere devotion towards the guru and perseverance of true knowledge are necessary to make a complete individual.
Shri Anand Swaroop Ji, a protégé of the Shankaracharya tradition, set out into society to work for its upliftment using the ideals of Shankaracharya. One such effort is Adi Shankaracharya International School, a nonprofit institution established in one of the most backward regions of Independent India—Ballia.
The school provides quality education for both boys and girls, along with training in fine arts and sports. Computer-based education forms an integral part of the teaching methodology to achieve excellence.
The school is associated with Vasudhaivam, an independent NGO that trains young adults in vocational skills to help them become self-sufficient and secure employment opportunities.
The Adi Shankaracharya International School aims to establish a culture and ethos based on the teachings of Adi Shankara, his doctrine of Advaita, and the Spirit of Oneness.
Our mission is to provide a safe school environment that encourages character development and realization of individual potential through the application of Adi Shankara’s teachings of spiritual Oneness.
